The Carpinteria Community Association named Jim Campos the Carpinterian of the Year on April 18 during the 67th annual Carpinteria Community Awards Banquet.

Dr. Jim Campos 2025 Carpinteria of the Year:
Developed the Early Childhood Learning Program at Canalino School and pioneered a Spanish-English immersion program.
Co-authored two history books, written for local publications, and served on boards for institutions like The Alcazar Theater and the Carpinteria Valley Museum of History.
Co-founded the Carpinteria Cultural Foundation.
Jim’s commitment to preserving the community’s story is entirely voluntary, motivated purely by civic pride and the belief that history is for everyone.
