Dr. Jim Campos 2025 Carpinteria of the Year:

• Developed the Early Childhood Learning Program at Canalino School and pioneered a Spanish-English immersion program. 

• Co-authored two history books, written for local publications, and served on boards for institutions like The Alcazar Theater and the Carpinteria Valley Museum of History.

• Co-founded the Carpinteria Cultural Foundation. 

Jim’s commitment to preserving the community’s story is entirely voluntary, motivated purely by civic pride and the belief that history is for everyone.
