The application process for the Junior Carpinterian Scholarship Awards will be coordinated through the counselors of Carpinteria High School, Cate High School, Bishop Diego High School and Laguna Blanca High School. The application process requires a written application, letters of recommendation, and an “in-person” oral interview with the Selection Committee. The committee is made up of local educators, business owners, and residents of Carpinteria.
After reviewing your written applications and oral interviews, the committee will select three finalists and invite them to the Community Awards Banquet, along with two guests (most often parents but not necessarily so) and each of the finalists will be recognized for their achievements. One of the three will then be honored as Junior Carpinterian of the Year.
For 2024 the three finalists were Valeria Zamora Susano of Carpinteria High School (L), Evelyn Calkins of Carpinteria High School (M), and Daisy Gemberling of Cate High School (R). Each of the finalists receive scholarships.
